Jon L. Way, DDS, MS, PLLC

Dr. Way grew up in Pullman, attending school from first grade through graduation Phi Beta Kappa from Washington State University. The next four years he studied at the University of Washington, School of Dentistry earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery. After a brief stint in general dentistry, he started working solely with children at a public health facility in South Seattle. He quickly realized that he enjoyed working with children more than anything else, which motivated him to specialize in Pediatric Dentistry.

Returning to study at the UCLA School of Dentistry, he completed a two-year postdoctoral residency program earning a certificate of specialty in Pediatric Dentistry. A masters degree in Oral Biology and a certificate in Developmental Disabilities from the Neuropsychiatric Institute were also received from UCLA.

Dr. Way is a Diplomat (Board Certified) of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has been deciphering the unique needs of treating children from all realms of life for over 25 years. As a parent of two young children himself, he is acutely aware of the rapidly changing moods and behaviors associated with the unique nature of every individual child. While striving to practice with the highest integrity and quality, a pragmatic approach to treatment planning is tailored to be in accordance with the wishes of the parents. To this end, a broad range of techniques and treatment styles have been achieved to attain this goal.

Dr. Way and his wife, Chau, have two children and enjoy watching them play baseball and dance. They can sometimes be found crabbing and clamming in the sound and enjoying time with their extended family.

Dr. Way is proud to be recognized for the last several years by the Seattle Met as a Top Dentist.

Elizabeth Velan, DMD, MSD

Dr. Elizabeth grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and completed her undergraduate degree at Portland State University.  She earned her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from Oregon Health and Science University in 2004. She then completed a two year certificate in treating medically complex adults a the University of Washington Graduate Residency Program prior to completing her Masters in Dentistry and Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Washington.

Since graduating, she has worked as a dental provider at Seattle Children's Hospital and as the Graduate Program Director for the University of Washington Pediatric Dentistry Program. Although Dr. Velan enjoyed academics, she issued her original drive to become a pediatric dentist, establishing a relationship with families and having the privilege of observing children transform into young adults. She continues to teach pediatric dental residents at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Dr. Elizabeth has been a Diplomate (Board Certified) of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry for over ten years.

Dr. Elizabeth strives to make every dental experience as positive as possible. She believes the best approach to oral health is to maximize prevention – but if restorative dental care is needed, we may have behavioral management options tailored to an individual family's needs.

Dr. Elizabeth and her husband Tomas have two children. Together they enjoy kids soccer, swimming, hiking and cooking. She gets away from it all in her garden or curled up with a book.

Dr. Elizabeth was recognized by the Seattle Met as a Top Dentist for 2017.

  • We take special notes on each child during the visit.

  • We care about what techniques work the best for your child.

  • We create an atmosphere of collaboration with parents, making sure you have a clear understanding of the treatment, follow-up, and solutions to your child’s dental health.

  • We believe in continuing education and as we keep ourselves up-to-date we will also keep you up-to-date on the latest equipment and techniques used to treat your children.

Our office is committed to helping you maximize your insurance benefits. Because insurance policies vary, we can only estimate your coverage in good faith but cannot guarantee coverage due to the complexities of insurance contracts. Financial Information

Your treatment plan will include a breakdown of all applicable fees, and we will inform you of all costs before treatment is administered. Charges are payable at the time of treatment.

We accept payments by cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Please ask a member of our staff, and we will review our payment options to accommodate your financial needs. If special arrangements are needed, please talk to our office manager prior to receiving service.

Although we participate with most major dental insurances, it is difficult to participate in all insurances.  We welcome you to our office even If we are out of network with your insurance.  With many out of network plans, there is often little or no difference in the out of pocket expense going out of network with our office. We are happy to discuss all of these options with you.

First Visit to Our Office

During your child’s first visit to our office, we want to take the time to get acquainted and gather information. This includes getting to know you and your child building a friendship with them while doing a thorough examination. Depending on your child’s age we could possibly take digital x-rays we feel may be required to make a complete diagnosis. At this time we will also discuss with you the nature of any dental care if necessary.

Please print and fill out our New Patient Forms.
Bring them with you at first appointment, Thank You.

What is a Pediatric Dentist?

A Pediatric Dentist like Dupuis, Dr. Way and Dr. Elizabeth is a specialist dedicated to the oral health of children and the monitoring of their facial growth and development. Our office is designed for treating children from infancy through adolescence, as well as the medically and the physically compromised. In our opinion, taking your child to see a pediatric dental specialist is as important as taking them to see a pediatrician.

Establishing Your Child’s Dental Home

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry encourages parents and other care providers to help every child establish a dental home by 12 months of age. Establishing a dental home provides some key components to dental care for your child including...

• Comprehensive oral health care including acute care and
preventive services.

• Individualized preventive dental health program based upon a
caries-risk assessment.

• Anticipatory guidance regarding growth and development.

• Plan for acute dental trauma (emergencies).

• Dietary counseling.

• Referrals to dental specialists when care cannot directly be provided within the dental home.

• Referral at an age determined by patient, parent,
and pediatric dentist.

We’re proud of what people are saying about our office!

Daniel Dupuis, DDS, MSD, PLLC

Dr. Dupuis developed his love for science and medicine while studying Biology at the University of Washington. He graduated with his bachelors of science in Biology and went on to continue his education at the University of Washington School of Dentistry where he received his doctoral of dental surgery. While in dental school Daniel had the opportunity to work at the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic in Seattle which ignited his passion for working with kids, specifically medically compromised children and those needing behavior guidance.

Dr. Dupuis completed his pediatric dental residency at the University of Washington where he also obtained a Master’s of Science in Dentistry. His master’s thesis focused on determining the prevalence of feeding disorders in children.

In his spare time, Dr. Dupuis enjoys spending time with his wife and three young children exploring the PNW, working on houses, and drinking copious amounts of coffee.
